Hello, I'm Oya.
I was born in Edirne, Turkey. I started studying piano at an early age, and then I started learning violin. I attended the Conservatory of Music and then graduated from Istanbul University State Conservatory with a master's degree. Besides many solo and chamber music concerts, I have played in a number of important orchestras and performed in national and international concerts. In order to learn the different methods, I received training in Orff Method and Body Percussion.
I taught violin and piano in Turkey for 10 years before moving to Cambridge six years ago. I have since played with numerous orchestras and continue to give violin and piano lessons. I was the leader of many local orchestras in Cambridge and I work with many schools in Cambridge area as a violin and a piano teacher.
Besides my traditional teaching methods, in June 2019 I have received a Level 1 certificate from British Suzuki Institute, qualifying as a Suzuki violin teacher. I am now taking violin students wishing to learn by this method.

I am a member of the BSI (British Suzuki Institute),
and I have a DBS check.
